We ended up in the Krabi La Playa through a package trip at TUI, more about why on Tuesday December 13, 2022 and Wednesday December 14, 2022.
So the choice was not completely voluntary, but this seemed the best option.
And we are quite satisfied with this hotel.

The hotel is located in a narrow street, just a few hundred meters from the beach and a few minutes walk from shops, restaurants and a night market.
There is a small parking lot in front of the resort entrance. The reception is built in a modern Thai style, light in color but also light inside. The furnishings in the common areas are fairly modern, well maintained as far as we can see and, very importantly, comfortable.
The staff are friendly and often speak moderate to good English.
Upon arrival, the luggage is taken to the room, which is also necessary because the section with the rooms has been expanded over time with new wings, finding your way takes some effort on the first day.
The hotel has, according to the site, more than 120 rooms.

The room we got is spacious enough, at least 40 m², including bathroom and balcony. The colors of the room are calm and fresh, light gray and light cream.
There are tiles on the floor that are not slippery when they get wet.
Remarkably, the room has a door on both sides to the room next door.
The room has a wardrobe with sliding door, various shelves and various clothes rails. Next to it is a piece of furniture with a small fridge and a few drawers and next to it a long table that can be used as a dressing table or work table.
Against the balcony is a small lying / sitting bench where you can sit with three people and where a child could possibly sleep. This bench comes with a side table.
The bed is spacious, but hard, and equipped with two bedside tables.
We also find slippers, bathrobes, umbrellas, towels for the pool or beach, flashlight, a refrigerator with only water, water glasses, an old-fashioned coffee maker (filter coffee), tea, instant coffee, and a hair dryer. There is a fairly large TV in the room with both Thai and English channels, and there is also a sound bar under the TV.
Of course there is air conditioning, but it is difficult to regulate, especially getting less cold is difficult. There is a smoke detector installed in the room.

The bathroom is small and equipped with a western toilet, a shower cabin with a hand shower and a rain shower and a sink with enough storage space for toiletries. The colors are different than in the living area, but the same kind of colors.
The bathroom includes shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower caps.
What is striking is that everything that is attached to the wall with screws and plugs is not properly secured, it does not fall down, but it is difficult.
There are two bath towels and two guest towels per day.
The hot water is heated somewhere centrally and is warm enough.

As general facilities, the resort has a small parking lot, ample swimming pools, fitness room, lobby bar, pool bar, restaurant, pool table, massage and meeting room. There is free, unsecured WiFi.
The breakfast, from 07:00 to 10:00, is mainly aimed at Western guests, but there is a small number of Thai dishes. The breakfast tastes good, but there is not much variety.
The coffee is very good.
